The original building, which is located in front of the new unit, will undergo renovations to improve conditions for users and professionals in the space where the following services operate: the Serra Mar Family Health Unit, the UCSP – Loulé Personalized Health Care Unit, the Citizen's Office, the Shared Assistance Resources Unit (early intervention, nutrition/psychology consultations, occupational therapy, speech therapy, radiology, dentistry, oral health unit) and the CDP/CRC – Pulmonology Diagnostic Center, Public Health).

The planned modernisation, functional adaptation and improvement works will include landscaping, functional adaptations of spaces, requalification of floors and coverings, installation of water and sewage equipment, electrical equipment, medical gas system, among others.

The project is planned to adapt a space for an oral health room and create a Low Complexity Integrated Diagnostic Center (radiology and clinical analysis).

The project was awarded for approximately 2 million euros, plus VAT at the current rate, with a deadline of 1 year.

"After a day of great joy with the inauguration of the first University Health Center in the country, we are taking another important step towards consolidating the strengthening of the public health service offering (SUS). We continue working to improve the provision of health care in the region!", says Mayor Vítor Aleixo.
