The Portuguese champions collected the first available silverware of the new season by winning the Super Cup 3-0 against Sporting de Braga in Aveiro.


The official league season kicks off on Friday, when FC Porto travel to Rio Ave. Sporting will host Marítimo on Saturday afternoon, while Tondela are t welcome Benfica later that evening.


The Second Division meanwhile started in blazing heat this past weekend, with Portimonense winning at Sporting B, while Olhanense lost at home to Académica.
