The action, which will last until midnight, has been called to demand the hiring of more nurses to compensate the reduction in weekly timetables.
As from Sunday, nurses will see their weekly hours reduced from 40 to 35 hours without suffering any pay-cuts.
Unions say that up to 2,000 nurses will be needed to compensate the cut in hours.
