So, it comes as no surprise that in the first half of 2022, Avenidas Novas was the most sought-after area to live in by foreigners in Lisbon, matching the parish of Santo António, which is home to the prestigious Avenida da Liberdade.

This area has a natural charm but also makes for a great investment opportunity in that it is constantly evolving and reinventing itself. Living in Central Lisbon comes with many perks, including easy access to Lisbon’s main streets and the best that Lisbon has to offer. For those who enjoy high-end shopping, El Corte Inglês and the Saldanha Residence are right on your doorstep. Not forgetting that the area also offers a variety of established restaurants and bars, with plenty of new trendy places opening regularly.

Central Lisbon is also a cultural hub with plenty of entertainment to enjoy with the best venues such as the Culturgest and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, not forgetting that all the biggest musicians and bands take to the stage at Campo Pequeno.

This area has many benefits including its convenience when it comes to a great selection of schools and a great transport network which includes two stops at Entrecampos and Campo Grande, making for a quick route in and out of Lisbon.

In more recent years, there has been lots of new developments in the area, including new offices, hotels, shops, and restaurants, transforming this area into a focal area for business, tourism, and leisure in the city.

However, housing has not lost its place here, with the demand in these neighbourhoods having substantially increased because there is the perfect balance between cosmopolitan and calm living in this 21st-century city.

Additionally, there are many new housing projects emerging, with one being called The One, on Avenida João XXI, located right next to Culturgest. The One is comprised of 65 apartments, with generously sized bedroom apartments with 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms that promise skyline views. Most notably, this project was designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Souto de Moura, who honours the legacy where residential architecture has always been a signature feature.

Another heavily anticipated project is called Campo Novo, which will extend to the Campo Grande Garden. Campo Novo housing is comprised of three buildings with 1-to-4-bedroom apartments, located in a safe gated condominium which is just one of the features suited to families wanting to settle in the centre. As well as bringing new housing to this central hub, it will create investments in public spaces, offices, and shops. This successful project currently has a waiting list and will soon be made available.
