International Algarve Fair Manager Sónia Seixas explained this week that organisers will be pulling out all the stops to improve on an already successful event in the region’s annual events calendar.

“There will be much more entertainment while some surprises have been reserved for visitors and exhibitors at this year’s Fair. In addition, the usual supply of fun in the sun will once again be central to our event this year”, she added.

“With the Fair coinciding with World Environment Day, we will be celebrating anything which will help to save the planet. We will also be focusing on the special part the Algarve has to play and the businesses who are prepared to act to make our region and the world a cleaner and greener place”, Ms Seixas says.

Organisers further reveal that Lagoa Town Hall will this year be taking a prominent position at the Fair to demonstrate how Lagoa is going about improving the environment.

Besides the underlying ‘green’ theme to this year’s Fair, visitors will be welcomed with a variety of restaurants, which specialise both in national and international cuisine.

One of the favourites at the Fair remains the Algarve Dog Show.

After six successful years, the Dog Show will offer dog owners yet another opportunity to see how their best friends match up against other competitors.

Some of the Algarve’s cutest canines will be there looking for a home, with parades for pets up for adoption being staged over the two days.

Children will once again be keeping adults inside the showgrounds, entertained for hours on end, with face painting, games, clowns, and not forgetting the popular Lagoa firefighters, armed with their power water hose and zipline set to keep the little
ones’ attention while parents enjoy a stroll around the secure confines of the Fair.

The festival atmosphere will also once again be enhanced by Kiss FM Radio, whose top DJs will be broadcasting live to Lisbon and the Algarve on both days of the show.

Doors open from 11am-7pm both Saturday and Sunday; tickets cost €3.50 per adult, children aged 12 or under are free.
