The accident happened on the EN270 National Road at around 8.30 in the morning, when the driver of a BMW SUV knocked a 66-year old man of his bicycle.
Paramedics, who were called to the scene by eyewitnesses, declared the man dead at the scene.
The 69-year old driver of the vehicle turned himself in to police eight hours later. He was released on bail and is set to appear in court later today.
