The more than 2,000 farmers affected by June’s forest fires in Pedrógão Grande and Góis, central Portugal, have received total aid of over €5.4 million.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and in response to questions from Lusa News Agency, a total of €5.441 million has been granted to 2,638 farmers who suffered losses in the huge fires that started in the two municipalities on 17 June. The ministry said it has set aside €10 million to support affected farmers in the Pedrógão region.
