The Portugal Government is to channel €50,000 to support non-governmental organisations working with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Inter-sex (LGBTI) community, with each project receiving up to €8,000.”

“This year I decided, bearing in mind the importance of the work of these organisations, to strengthen their support,” said Rosa Monteiro, secretary of state for citizenship and equality.

The deadline for applications is 30 September, and the country’s secretary of state for citizenship and equality said that although there was a “small subsidy” of €30,000 last year, it wasn’t exclusively for associations belonging to the LGBTI.
