According to the Stuttgart-based brand, it managed to increase sales in Portugal by 45 percent last year when compared with 2013, for a total of 10,000 vehicles to have driven off showroom floors across the country.

The company said the positive results were largely due to the success of the new A-Class, with sales further helped on by the B-Class and the CLA model range.

The use of Renault engines in its new C-Class, which has brought prices down considerably, is expected to make 2015 another good year for the car maker.
