On top of the overhauled venue – which is still currently under construction – hundreds of exhibitors and stunning equestrian shows, a line-up of big names from the Portuguese music scene are booked to play at the event, including pop band D.A.M.A. (Friday 19 August), Angolan singer Anselmo Ralph (Saturday 20 August) and the ‘father of Portuguese rock’, Rui Veloso (Sunday 28 August).
This year will be the 37th annual edition of Fatacil and runs from 19 to 28 August. It features exhibitors from the sectors of handicrafts, agriculture, commerce, industry and tourism and this year also focuses largely on wines after Lagoa was named ‘City of Wine 2016’.
A more modern and spacious venue following recent interventions offers improved safety conditions as well as a better flow of visitors in a larger and more open space.
Around 200,000 people visit Fatacil every year, making it the largest event in the Algarve’s summer calendar.
