“The Spanish, French and Angolans were the biggest spenders with Visa cards in Portugal, an official source told Lusa News Agency adding that “hotels, entertainment and clothing were the biggest earners”.
According to the figures, foreign visitors spent €47 million using these cards over the Easter week from 28 March to 6 April, while the Portuguese spent €29 million abroad, 12 percent more than the previous Easter.
Angolans used the card to spend €1 million a day on average in Portugal over Easter.
The €7 million the Angolans spent was 48 percent more than the some €5 million they spent 12 months earlier the source said.
