The sport has seen its numbers grow rapidly in recent times, with local Algarve club CRUAL fielding its first competitive team against five teams from Lisbon; Belenenses, Benfica, CDUL, São Miguel and Técnico.
Técnico were the eventual champions after they defeated Belenenses in a hard-fought final.
The final round of matches takes place in Lisbon on 9 June, and will determine the final standings of the competition.
The sport has only recently started in the Algarve, with support coming from several entities across the region and country, included Touch Rugby Portugal, Lagoa Town Hall, Faro Parish Council, GD Lagoa sports group and CRUAL.
