In a statement, the Itinerant Trade Review Railway Union (SFRCI) points to the national strike as the “last form of struggle” in the face of the “refusal of dialogue and the ineffectiveness, for several months, in the resolution of workers' problems by the Council of Administration of CP”.

Contacted by Lusa, an official CP source declined to comment on the union's claims, only adding that “the arbitral court decreed minimum services of around 25 percent”.

On its website, the company warns of “significant disturbances nationwide in all services” on strike days, with possible impact on the days before (Saturday) and following (Wednesday) the strike.

According to CP, those who already have tickets to travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Internacional, InterRegional and Regional trains may request a refund of the total amount of the ticket purchased or its revalidation, free of charge.
