In a statement, the GNR advances that the objective of the 'RoadPol - Alcohol and Drugs' operation is "to promote safer behaviour on the part of drivers and reduce serious road accidents throughout the mainland national territory".

In the last 'RoadPol - Alcohol and Drugs' operation, carried out between May 4 and 10, 35,249 vehicles were inspected and 33,310 drivers were tested for alcohol and psychotropic substances.
