According to the DGS epidemiological bulletin, 72 patients are admitted in intensive care, four less than on Sunday.
Regarding hospital admissions, the official data indicate that 246 patients are admitted today, one more than the day before.
The two deaths occurred in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley and in the North.
The data also showed a decrease of 94 active cases of infection, now totalling 22,181.
In the last 24 hours, 291 people were deemed to be recovered, totalling 803,191 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Health officials have 18,505 contacts under surveillance, 303 fewer than on Sunday.
According to the latest data from the DGS, Portugal has 4,446,654 people vaccinated against covid-19, of which 1,346,459 are already immunized with both doses.
The bulletin states that the North region today has 59 new SARS-CoV-2 infections and one death with covid-19.
In the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, a further 90 cases of infection were reported, accounting for 318,123 cases and 7,209 deaths so far.
In the Centre region, 20 more cases were registered.
In the Alentejo, five more cases were reported, totalling 29,982 infections and 971 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the Algarve region, the bulletin reveals that nine more cases were registered, with 22,025 infections and 362 deaths since the pandemic began.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira recorded eight new cases, accounting for 9,501 infections and 68 deaths due to covid-19, since March 2020.
Today, the Azores have eight new cases and account for 5,058 cases and 31 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, according to DGS.
The regional authorities of the Azores and Madeira disclose their data on a daily basis, which may not coincide with the information disclosed in the DGS bulletin.
Of the total fatalities, 8,935 were men and 8,074 women.
The largest number of deaths continues to be concentrated in the elderly over 80 years old, followed by the age group between 70 and 79 years old.
