Il traffico di esseri umani in Portogallo è diminuito nel 2020

The number of victims of trafficking in human beings reported in Portugal decreased by 31.4 percent in 2020 compared to 2019, labour exploitation continuing to be the the highest incidence reported, according to SEF.

“SEF [Foreigners and Borders Service] reported 59 victims associated with the crime of trafficking in human beings, the most relevant nationalities being Indian (27), Pakistani (10) and Romanian (6)”, states the Immigration Report, Borders and Asylum (RIFA) released on 24 June by SEF.

The RIFA states that, in 2020, labour exploitation continued to have a greater incidence in Portugal.

The report also indicates that, following investigations carried out in 2020, 59 victims of trafficking in human beings were reported, 31.4 percent less than in 2019, when 86 were detected.
