1855 ventilators available in hospitals

The National Health Service (SNS) has 1855 hospital ventilators ready to respond to the possible worsening of the covid-19 pandemic in the coming months, revealed, the Secretary of State for Health, Diogo Serras Lopes.

That reflects an increase of 713 devices, that is, about 62 percent of the installed capacity of mechanical devices compared to what existed during the first 'peak' of Covid-19 , between March and April.

The idea of ??a situation under control was also conveyed by the Secretary of State for Health in relation to the occupation of beds with Covid-19 patients in wards and intensive care units (ICU) in the region of Lisbon and the Vale do Tejo - the most under pressure by the disease.
