Plan unveiled to make tourism more sustainable and with less plastic by 2023

An ambitious new plan has been unveiled in the Algarve which aims to make 75% of tourist resorts free of single-use plastics and with energy and water efficiency systems by 2023.

These are two of the main measures of the “Turismo + Sustentável 20-23 Plan”, unveiled yesterday in Olhão.

In total, there are 119 actions that make up the Plan, being promoted by national tourism board Turismo de Portugal.
