According to the updated risk map, there are currently 61 municipalities at very high risk and 55 at high risk, accounting for a total of 116 territories at greatest risk, up from 90 last week.

After the Government corrected the situation of Arruda dos Vinhos, a municipality that was initially placed at very high risk and then moved to high risk, there were 46 municipalities at very high risk and 44 at high risk in mainland Portugal .

What are the rules?

Among the measures applied to high and very high risk councils are mandatory telework when functions allow, cultural shows until 22:30 and restaurants, cafes and patisseries can remain open until 22:30 (inside with a maximum of four people per group and on terraces with a maximum of six people per group), except on Fridays from 7:00 pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays during all hours of operation, access to restaurants for indoor dining service is only allowed for holders of a digital vaccination certificate or a negative Covid-19 test. A mandatory curfew will also remain in place between 11pm and 5am.

Across the continental territory, the requirement of a digital certificate or negative test for access to tourist establishments and local accommodation is maintained.

Very risk rules

In very high risk municipalities, other more restrictive measures are in force, such as weddings and baptisms with 25% of the capacity, gyms without group classes, food retail open until 9:00 pm during the week and until 7:00 pm on the weekend and holidays and non-food retail until 9:00 pm during the week and until 3:30 pm on weekends and holidays.

High risk rules

With less restrictive measures, in high-risk municipalities, weddings and baptisms are allowed with 50% of the capacity, practice of all sports, without public is allowed, and physical activity outdoors and in gyms, food and non-food retail trade can open until 21:00.
