This new campaign includes social media advertising and a display ads campaign and will run until 13 August. As part of the campaign, a 45 second video will be shown to try and inspire tourists to choose the Algarve this summer.
João Fernandes, president of Algarve Tourism, said: “Although the last year and a half has been extremely challenging for the tourism sector, we want to show Portuguese and foreign tourists that the Algarve continues to be a safe destination to enjoy a relaxing holiday while complying with all the rules defined for the protection of the public health.
“Regardless of setbacks, we realise that the desire to travel has been growing and it is therefore essential to reinforce the promotion of the destination during the peak season of tourist activity. We hope that the campaign will contribute to the increase in reservations and that, together with the arrival of the British, with the golf reservations scheduled for September and the advancement of the vaccination process in Europe, we can still improve the summer performance in the Algarve.”

To James-'What a nasty and vindictive comment from I assume to be a selfish Expat Brit- if tourism fails this August all your lovely little restaurants will all go out of business so you will suffer in the long run- if you don't like the Algarve with tourists spending money then move somewhere else for the summer!!!
