Sicily has declared a state of emergency as the region experiences its worst drought in almost 20 years.
Eastern Spain, Morocco and Sicily at Alert (Red) levels of drought as of January. Much of Southern Europe entering the warm months at warning (orange) level.

According to experts, this could be the third worst water crisis ever recorded on the island.
