The company's CEO Miguel Nabeiro said: "The aim is to support 500 coffee producers in the Azores in 15 years”.

Miguel Nabeiro said the Azores currently produced around nine tonnes of coffee, which he deemed was "very little" and guaranteed that "mass production" was possible, although he did not put forward a date for coffee marketing or the amount demanded.

He also said the marketing of 100% biodegradable coffee capsules, made out of corn, sugarcane and cassava, would start in the second semester of the year.
