Faro council was on Monday targeted in searches conducted by PJ police, who were at the council building from 9am to 5pm.

It is believed to have been searched as part of Operation Tutti Frutti, a nationwide operation launched yesterday which targeted about 70 searches on town halls, in PSD and PS party premises, in companies, law firms and private houses.

A PSD party source told Lusa News Agency that the police were investigating alleged “favours for party members” through “direct awards” to hire services and companies connected or controlled by political leaders.
