The list was published in the December edition of the magazine and the best rated Portuguese wine was Quinta de Foz de Arouce 2011, a red from the Coastal Beira district, which came in ninth.
In 22nd place came Monte dos Cabaços 2007 Reserva, from Alentejo; Blandy’s 2002 Colheita Bual, from Madeira came 39th; Herdade do Esporão 2011 Reserva, also from Alentejo, came 44th and finally in 62nd place was Aveleda 2013 Reserva da Família, from Bairrada.
Only the U.S., France, Italy and Spain have more wines in the list than Portugal.
Back in October the magazine had elected the 2014 white wine, Quinta da Aveleda, and Pedra Cancela Seleção do Enólogo, from Dão, among the seven best wines in 2015 for under $15 a bottle.
