This is according to an Earnings and Living Conditions report released by the National Institute of Statistics.


The report said that monetary income for the 10 percent of the adult population with the greatest resources, with an annual average income of €26,127, was 10.6 times greater than the average earned by the 10 percent of the population with the lowest level of resources.


The report further stated that a quarter of all children and young persons live in households with earnings of below €428 per month.
