In the press conference at the end of the Council of Ministers today that defined the changes to the school year due to the pandemic, António Costa was asked about how the first of five days is going with more restrictions on travel.

“I still don't have any information on how it is going. I have the hope and the confidence that the Portuguese realise that this increased effort that is required in these five days is particularly important for the evolution of the rest of the month ”, he said.

The Prime Minister insisted on the idea that "everything that happens now will be reflected in the data that we will have in 15 days".

"If we want to speed up this process, limit the constraints as much as possible, we must now apply ourselves with all determination," he appealed.

Asked about the distribution of material and equipment, António Costa explained that the Government is responsible “solely and exclusively” for the equipment that it acquires and distributes to the National Health Service.

"We cannot answer for what are the most diverse movements of spontaneous initiative that have been developed on the distribution of equipment based on donations by third parties," he said.
