A source from the Évora District Relief Command (CDOS) told Lusa news agency that the warning was given about an accident between a truck and a car on the road near to São Manços at 8.03am.
It is reported that the woman was declared dead at the scene of the accident and that her son was transported to the Espírito Santo de Évora Hospital for treatment.
The road remained closed to traffic in both directions at 10.30am.
