Portuguese athlete wins gold at World Canoeing Championships

Portuguese athlete Fernando Pimenta has won gold at the World Canoeing Championships which took place this past weekend in the Czech Republic.

The Portuguese canoeist won the K1 5000 race yesterday. He completed the non-Olympic distance race in just under 20mins and 47 seconds.

This latest medal is the Portuguese athlete’s eighth win in world speed races.
