“TAP is too important for the country to let it collapse,” said Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Pedro Nuno Santos, after being questioned by PSD Deputy Cristóvão Norte about news published in newspaper Expresso, which says that TAP it will be nationalised due to a lack of agreement between the State and private shareholders.
Before that, the government minister waived the initial intervention in the Economy, Innovation, Public Works and Housing commission.
“When we are talking about TAP we have to realise that we cannot be limited to the result of TAP as a company, because we are talking about an airline that is one of the largest national carriers. [...] Almost 90 percent of our tourists arrive by air, half arrive via TAP. [...] It is an instrument of national development and of job promotion”, he added.
Nice article, I look forward to seeing more. ????

TAP Air Portugal used to be an excellent small air company providing good services to its many customers. After privatization it has been reduced to its simplest expression! Now at the bottom of its lacklustre performance "offers" poor services, lacks accountability and it's subject to constant complaints! Suddenly, it became again a strategic resource and let's nationalize it again obliging the Portuguese tax-payer to fill again the pockets of its predatory private shareholders!

So, in other words, TAP will be nationalized when it loses money, and re-privatized as soon as it makes profit again... Classic.

If they really want the tourists to use TAP again, they must force the airline to refund the passengers for the flights cancelled up to now! It's a disgrace how TAP has been acting, thousands of complaints remain unanswered...

I'm sick and tired of the tax payers again be responsable to save this miserable airline
They are rude to customers , pilots think they are better than anybody else , and the flight attendants do whatever they feel like .

TAP workers should be nicer to customers. Some worker at the check in counter are quite rude.
They do not give me a nice feeling, almost feels like its an inconvenience for them to deal with people, they must remember that it is the customer that pay their wage.

TAP is an incredible company. Embarrassing ! They were the first to sell me the ticket and now they do not want to return the money even though they have not provided the service. Scandal!
There is no contact with them. They do not reply to any correspondence! I will never fly with them again and advise against them.
