Siza spoke at the opening of the conference “The Future of Money”, organised by newspaper Dinheiro Vivo, radio station TSF and company EY, underway in Lisbon.
Siza said that the Lisbon is going to host the technology and innovation meeting for the next 10 years and te country had to seize its resources.
The two years of Web Summit in Portugal “allowed us to put” the country “in the technology sector at a completely different level than before,” he said, stressing that it was from the first years of the summit that “investments such as BMW or Mercedes Benz or Google were made” in the Portuguese market.
“This is a showcase that empowers our startups (…), and this is one of the strands of the agreement with Web Summit, access to investors to be able to develop products or reach the market,” he added.
