"Above all, I want to continue building on the good work the team has been doing, based on a sustained growth strategy. The goal is to grow by around 25% by the end of the year. We recently arrived in the Azores, for example, and we have plans to be in at least five more cities by December. The goal is to continue focusing on providing the best possible service for the Portuguese who choose us to simplify their lives," says Daniel Glusman, the new head of Bolt Food in Portugal.
Bolt saw 20% growth in the first quarter and has already opened in ten new cities since the beginning of the year. By the end of the year, it aims to grow 25% and reach 15 new cities. Bolt's home food delivery operation is currently present in over 20 cities. In this segment, Bolt competes with Uber Eats and Glovo.
"Bolt has been growing at an impressive pace, and I believe my experience, not only in several countries but also in companies of various sizes, has prepared me for this exciting challenge of driving Bolt Food forward in the country. At a time when people increasingly need tailor-made solutions, it's essential to focus on the practicality of our offerings – and we want to be synonymous with that. This goal can only be achieved by building a long-term and sustainable relationship with our partner restaurants," he says.
A graduate of IMD Business School, with over 20 years of international experience in Europe and Latin America, working for companies such as Procter & Gamble (Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela), Gloria (Peru), BRF, Kraft Heinz (UK), the delivery unicorn Getir (UK), and MyRest, Daniel Glusman replaced Manuel Castel-Branco, who moved to OLX.
