Heavy rain leads to Algarve floods

The intense rain that began to fall in the Algarve during the early hours of 30 November mainly affected the municipalities of Olhão, Loulé, Silves and Albufeira, although with occasional situations in the rest of the region

By 12:30pm, 80 occurrences had been recorded in the district of Faro due to bad weather, but the number will rise, since some situations "are being monitored at the municipal level and will be reported later", said a source from Faro District Relief Operations Command (CDOS).

In Silves, the fall of two walls caused damage to eight vehicles that were parked on public roads. Also in the industrial area of ??Loulé there were "small floods" in warehouses, they added. In Loulé, the precipitation was more intense during the morning.

Additionally, in the municipality of Olhão, which had already been hit by bad weather last Friday, with several floods on the public road, the situation was more serious during the night.

According to the same source, the forecasts for the afternoon "are not worrying” and there should be a "relief from the situation" in the Algarve, although the eastern area of ??the Algarve may be more affected.
