Faro’s old Santa Maria hospital has reopened to take in non-Covid-19 patients. The unit opened on Monday through a partnership with the state-run Algarve University Hospital group (CHUA) and two private entities. The São Gonçalo hospital in Lagos will also soon receive non-covid-patients, in a measure that aims to allow the space for those infected with coronavirus to be expanded in the public hospitals of Faro and Portimão.
