The Portuguese Met Office has forecast dry and hotter temperatures with moderate to strong easterly wind for the next 48 hours. This, coupled with low humidity, led the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) to warn people of the increased risk of rural fires for the next couple of days.
