Together with holidaymakers and beachgoers they enjoyed the views of sparkling waters and the cooling breezes while sampling a welcome drink and colourful tasty appetisers on the roof terrace of Rei das Praias Restaurant.

Lunch was served on the veranda of the restaurant, complying to Covid restrictions. The menu had been created on the basis of the philosophy of this well-known family run restaurant paying homage to the sea and serving the freshest catch of the day. The printed menu gave nothing away as to which fishes were to be served as all was dependent on what was caught out at sea in the hours before the lunch. However all was soon to be revealed. Services started with a selection of fish and shellfish starters made up of tuna tartar with mango and clams and a sweet potato crisp, clams, delicious soft calamari and shrimps. The main course consisted of large robalo grilled and with side dishes of a selection of vegetables and potatoes. The meal was accompanied throughout by a refreshing white wine “Baron de B” 2018 and the usual waters. A composed selection of deserts and coffee brought the meal to a close.

In accordance with the relaxed informal holiday atmosphere of the restaurant no formal speeches or presentations were made but the thanks of all participating were relayed to those who had been involved with the preparing and serving the lunch and helping to make it such a success.
