In a statement sent to the Lusa agency, the Proença-a-Nova Chamber states that the Restricted Municipal Commission for Civil Protection is "closely following the evolution of this situation, and support is being provided to the home to fight the current outbreak".

According to the municipality, at present, 46 users and seven employees are infected with the new coronavirus.

“Three of the users are hospitalised, while the rest are stable. There is also one death to be registered, of a user who also had other health complications”, the note reads.

The information said that all users are being monitored by a medical team that is making regular visits to the facilities and quick tests are being carried out on employees every 48 hours.

In addition to the outbreak in the home, there are also three infected people in the community and 20 people under surveillance.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, the municipality of Proença-a-Nova has registered 413 people infected with Covid-19, for a total of 403 recovered and 10 deaths, to which 56 are added now.
