As of 5 January, there will be a toll-only service - Via Verde Autoestrada. The monthly or annual fee to rent the equipment will be the same if you choose this option. If you prefer a paperless invoice, you will pay 49 cents a month or 5.75 euros a year; if you prefer the physical support statement, the cost varies between 99 cents (monthly fee) and 11.65 euros (annual fee).

If the tolls are not enough, you will have to stay with Via Verde Mobilidade. The new option "will give access to all existing services, as well as new services and benefits that Via Verde Portugal will create", says the company in information sent to customers at the end of last week.

Entering and leaving covered car parks or on the street without having to use the machine, charging electric vehicles, paying for ferry trips between Setúbal and Troia or shopping at McDonald's are some of the options that transition to the new service.

Via Verde is transferring current customers to the new service, which will be more expensive than the toll-only option. Until March 31, even so, the price of the monthly/annual fee will be the same as for the motorway modality, depending on whether you prefer the digital or paper invoice.

The changes begin to be felt from April 1st: if you prefer a paperless invoice, you will pay 99 cents a month or 11.65 euros a year; if you prefer the physical statement, the cost varies between 1.49 euros (monthly fee) or 17.40 euros (annual fee).

Those who only use a transponder for a few months a year (Via Verde Leve) will always have tolls and other mobility services included.

Currently, the monthly fee varies between 70 cents (digital statement) and 1.20 euros (paper statement). The current members, from April, will pay 1.25 euros per month (digital invoice) or 1.75 euros (paper bill).

The new prices take effect from January 5 for all new Via Verde subscribers.
