According to INE, “the price of materials and the cost of labour presented, respectively, variations of 8.8% and 5.4% compared to the same period of the previous year”. These are higher year-on-year increases than those registered in September: 8.3% and 4.7%, respectively.

The institute also concludes that the cost of labour contributed with 2.3% to the formation of the year-on-year rate of change of the New Housing Construction Cost Index (ICCHN), with the components of materials contributing with 5.1%.
