In a statement, the company Servilusa, which won the public tender for the construction and management of the crematorium, says that the equipment, in its first year of operation, should carry out around 740 cremations.

The crematorium is located in the Municipal Cemetery of Monchique, in the municipality of Guimarães, in the district of Braga.

“The company's new commitment to the national and regional economy represents a response to the needs identified in the district [of Braga], and is therefore important for the entire community present in the Minho region, which has been showing an increasing desire for cremation as a funeral option, in line with the national trend in recent years”.

For Servilusa's general business director, Paulo Moniz Carreira, this investment continues the company's expansion plan in the area of cremation, in Minho, also fulfilling its "historical commitment" to contribute to the development of the sector and communities in that operates.

The Guimarães crematorium created two jobs and represented an investment of €800,000.

It occupies a building with 350 square metres of covered area and also has an outdoor space of 150 square metres for parking and a garden.
