Cheryl and Graham Smith will be hosting this Charity event with founder of Alerta, Debby Burton to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne. The purpose of this event is to help raise funds for Alerta with all ticket proceeds and donations directly benefiting the Bombeiros and the communities they serve in the Algarve and the Lower Alentejo regions.

The event will take place on 28 May, from 3pm to 6pm at Figs on the Funcho in S.B. Messines with a vintage fire truck parked outside for plenty of photo opportunities. The cost of the ticket is €30 per person which includes a delicious afternoon tea and a glass of fizz. All the decorations and flowers are by event planner Amelia from Unique and Chic.

Cheryl said: “We have already been shown a lot of support from the community as there has been great enthusiasm about the event, with people even donating a 100-year-old tea set which adds a special touch to the event along with Debby’s mothers’ tea set which is 65 years old and Cheryl’s grandmothers’ tea set which is 77 years old”.

If anyone would like to support the event, they can donate vintage tea sets to the event and additionally, they are looking for a musician willing to do light music to go with the afternoon tea so please contact Cheryl if you are interested.

If anyone would like to volunteer to help set up this event on the day or help make sandwiches, please contact Cheryl and Graham on graham@figsonthefuncho.com. If you would like to support a great cause and purchase a ticket, please email Debbie Burton on bombeirosalgarve@gmail.com.
