According to the newspaper, the luxury five star resort, part of the Marriott International group, is located in Praia da Galé, in Albufeira, and is the result of an investment of around €300 million.

The hotel has 134 rooms and suites in addition to 83 residential apartments, overlooking the sea. The tourist resort also has a spa, six bars and restaurants, including a new branch of Paper Moon, an Italian restaurant.

The crown jewel of the resort is the Extreme WOW Suite, a presidential suite inspired by the culture and fishing villages of the Algarve, which has its own panoramic rooftop and a private infinity pool. The stay in this suite is set at €3,141 per day for non-members and €3,078 for members.

The hotel in Portugal will be managed by Catejan Araújo, who has more than 20 years of experience in the luxury segment. Before taking over the management of the Portuguese unit, Catejan Araújo was director of W Goa, St Regis Hotels, in Doha, Mumbai, and of Bal Harbor, in Miami, according to Publituris Hotelaria.
