The depression will not directly affect mainland Portugal, but indirect effects will be felt through precipitation that will occur during the day on Friday, explained the meteorologist from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

“The depression will not affect Portugal. It will pass through northern France. We are under the influence of an anticyclonic ridge. On Friday we will have very cloudy skies and more intense, more generalised and more frequent rain, especially in the Minho and Douro Litoral area, where during the morning and early afternoon it may rain with some intensity”, she said.

According to Paula Leitão, on Saturday a continuation of very cloudy skies and rain in the northern and central regions is expected.

“From Sunday night to Monday we will have heavy precipitation throughout the territory, which is associated with frontal systems that are passing through the territory”, she said.

“Tomorrow [Friday] the maximum temperatures will be around 17 degrees in Bragança, 18 in Lisbon and 19 for Évora, Beja and Faro. They may still suffer some fluctuations, but on Sunday they rise to values of 20 degrees or higher in almost the entire territory,” she said.
