The pharmacy celebrated its 110th anniversary on the 1 August, in this context the Visitable Collection of Farmácia Monte was opened. Speaking with Lusa, Tiago Salgueiro, vice-president of the municipality, explained that in addition to being the oldest historic pharmacy in Portugal, it is the first that offers the possibility of visiting a museum about the space.

The mayor added that the municipality is committed “to enhancing its cultural heritage” and if the application is approved, the municipality intends to “integrate [the space] within the scope of Vila Viçosa's candidacy process for World Heritage status”.
