The IPMA placed the municipality of Tavira (Faro) at maximum danger of fire and three municipalities in the district of Bragança, seven in Castelo Branco, eight municipalities in the district of Santarém, five in Portalegre and five in Faro at very high danger.

At high risk are dozens of municipalities in the interior North and Centre, in the south of Alentejo and in the Algarve.

The fire hazard, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum. Calculations are obtained from air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

For today, the IPMA predicts a slight rise in maximum temperatures in the North and Center regions. A small increase in the minimum temperature is also foreseen.

As for temperatures, the minimums will vary between 5 degrees Celsius (Braga) and 13ºC (Lisbon) and the maximums between 21ºC (Guarda) and 31ºC (Santarém).
