The small village of Villarroya, in La Rioja province, has beaten its own previous record of 32 seconds this year as Salvador Perez runs for mayor again, having been in the role since 1973.

Villaroya’s residents were ready to cast their votes as soon as polls opened, all 7 registered voters finishing in 29 seconds and 52 hundredths.
