On the city's Lisburn Road, The Underground Bistro has opened its doors to showcase its new fit-out by neighbourhood business FT Building. It is the second business initiative for the entrepreneur who founded the well-known Springsteens restaurant, and it has generated more than 15 employees.
Customers may enjoy a lovely and peaceful area with an unusual mix of old furniture and design components thanks to the new restaurant's wholly unique idea.
Gary Smith who is the manager of the restaurant said: “Belfast has an excellent restaurant scene, and we are delighted to launch a brand-new addition to the Lisburn Road area.
“With The Underground Bistro, we have combined a first-class eating experience with a quirky aesthetic and calming ambience.
"Our classically trained chefs have created a menu with amazing flavours from around the world and we’re excited to welcome everyone to come along and try it.”
The opening aims to capitalise on the popularity of the Springsteens restaurant, which is close by and has been a staple in the community for 25 years because of its reputation for delivering high-quality cuisine and service.
The Underground Bistro guarantees the same superior service in addition to a cuisine that is novel and fresh.
The menu has a variety of meals, from breakfast to dessert, with “Cloud Cakes” being one of the most inventive options. It consists of a plate of fluffy pancakes flavoured with matcha and served with cherry hibiscus syrup, chantilly cream, and mixed berries.
The top team of chefs are overflowing with skill and ideas, according to head chef Leon Davis, who is in charge of overseeing food preparation. In addition to creating the well-known and adored classics, their aim is to tantalise tastebuds with novel meals, he added.
The restaurant's eclectic design, which blends old and contemporary, was created by Cassie Quinn, manager of the Springsteens, who drew inspiration from her extensive travels and passion for cuisine.
A really distinctive, hospitable room that is ideal for any mood or occasion has been created with furniture that was upcycled from items found at local auctions. For the rest of July, business hours are from Monday through Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm.
However, starting in the middle of August, the hours will be extended to include a nightime menu with fine food served in a relaxed atmosphere.
