According to the data, Ireland's percentage of adults with a third-level degree (34%) is much higher than the EU average.
Just 28% of Irish adults had completed secondary school, the greatest level of education available, and 3% of persons had not completed basic school.
Eighty-five percent of women aged 25 to 65 who had a third-level qualification were working, compared to ninety-two percent of males with the same level of qualification.
Sixty percent of individuals in the age group of 25–34 and sixty percent of those in the age group of 35–44 held a third-level qualification. The age group of 60-64 had the lowest percentage of third-level achievement, at 35 percent.
As of the second quarter of this year, 62% of individuals in Dublin, the Southeast, and other regions had the lowest percentages of third-level attainment, at 45% and 46%, respectively, among those aged 25 to 64.
