According to SIRO, the €100 million deployment is a component of its plan to reach places where residential internet connectivity is not yet available.
Dublin's Docklands, East Wall, Walkinstown, Kimmage, and Crumlin are among the new locations serviced.
In other sections of the city such Fairview, Raheny, Finglas, Artane, and Coolock, SIRO's network is already well-established.
From Balbriggan in Fingal as far south as Shankill in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, the business claimed its extended network coverage throughout the four Dublin local authority areas now comprises more than thirty suburban communities.
According to SIRO, it intends to keep expanding wherever there are more business prospects in Dublin County and City.
“It can be erroneous to assume that our cities already have universal full fibre connectivity,” stated SIRO CEO John Keaney.
“Poor broadband can exist in areas of our cities and its suburbs, just as much as it can be found in more remote areas,” he stated.
“SIRO is rolling out our network across Dublin, city and county, because a real need exists to address existing connectivity blackspots,” Mr. Keaney stated.
The Dublin extension comes after cooperation with the telecom’s unit of Dublin City Council and the broadband offices of the other three Dublin local councils.
“This is a really positive investment for Dublin, and I am delighted that the City Council have been able to support SIRO in the delivery of this essential digital infrastructure particularly in areas such as East Wall, Docklands, Kimmage and Crumlin,” said Lord Mayor of Dublin, Daithí de Róiste.
“We need to ensure that all of our communities have access to high quality broadband services and are not left behind as the adoption of new technologies and digital services continues to accelerate,” he stated.
To build a new, fully fibre internet network throughout Ireland, SIRO was established in 2015.
550,000 residences and companies in more than 135 towns and cities nationwide already have access to its services.
According to SIRO, it is expected to reach 700,000 locations by 2026.
