Harrington won the 2007 and 2008 Open Championships and the 2008 PGA Championship. The former Ryder Cup captain won 39 tournaments worldwide on the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and the Champions Tour, where he won the Hoag Classic at Newport Beach in March 2024. He also managed to win the US Senior Open in June 2022.

Speaking ahead of Harrington’s induction, world number 2 Rory McIlroy said: “He really kick-started this Irish Golf movement, Padraig was the one that made us all believe we could do it. He’s the Ultimate Pro”.
