Speaking to the Lusa agency, ANEPC operations officer, José Costa, said that of the 750 incidents recorded, 280 were floods, 221 tree falls, 192 structure falls, 51 road cleanings and land slides.

“The highest number of incidents was recorded in Greater Lisbon with 169, followed by Coimbra with 135 and 92 in the Porto Metropolitan Area,” said José Costa, adding that the situation calmed down during the night.

According to the same source, there is no record of victims, just some damage, which has not yet been quantified.

“We had a situation in Mancelos, in the parish of Amarante, in the district of Porto, of two people who had to be relocated due to the flooding of their house,” he said.

The ANEPC operations officer said there was still no record of roads closed due to bad weather.

During Sunday 566 incidents related to strong wind and rain had already been recorded, also with no victims. The Coimbra region was the most affected.

The north and centre of mainland Portugal were hit, between Sunday and today, by a cold front, with sometimes strong wind and rain and sea disturbances, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

In a statement, IPMA said that the cold front was associated with Depression Bert (name given by the Irish Meteorological Service).
